The Four From The Shore
BIG RESCUE WELCOME TO “THE FOUR FROM THE SHORE” … LUKE, FRANKIE, SPANKY aka GRANDPA, and GRACIE. These poor pups were part of a hoarding situation and came from extremely unsanitary conditions. They were infested with fleas and their coats are severly matted and smell. Thankfully the shelter gave them each a few baths and treated for fleas. And gave them initial vaccinations.
They are boarded at a Kennel for 14 day quarantine. They will be groomed while in the kennel. They are all matted and dirty. All 4 are seeing one of our vets for bloodwork and a good going over. We are most worried about GRANDPA (the blue merle), he is very frail and appears to have extremely limited vision. LUKE (the tri) had an issue with his one eye that needs immediate attention. They all seem to be in good spirits all things considered.
These dogs will not be available for adoption for a while yet, they all need to be spayed/neutered and we need to get to know them so we can find the best match for their adoptive homes. They are all very sweet and tolerated being picked up and carried – none of them know how to walk on a leash so this was the safest way to do it.
We told every single one of these dogs that TODAY is the start of their Happily Ever After and that they will be okay and loved very much.
The Four From The Shore had their vet visit. Bloodwork, parasite checks, a good going over.
SPANKY aka GRANDPA (the blue merle – 14 lbs) is blind in one eye and has very limited vision in the other eye. He has likely been this way for a long time. GRANDPA badly needs a dental as most of his teeth are rotten. He is thin and we will see what his bloodwork tells us. Depending on what is found, he may be a hospice dog. He is smelling much better after his grooming.
LUKE (the bigger tricolor – 24 lbs) also badly needs a dental and will probably need to have most of his teeth removed. LUKE has an inverted eyelid and needs surgery to fix that – he was likely born that way. He has an upper respiratory infection and will get antibiotics. Luke seems very laid back.
FRANKIE (a sable – 18 lbs) is in relatively good health. A bit thin but not terrible. He is the most outgoing of the bunch.
GRACIE (a sable 22lbs) is relatively good shape. She is the most frightened and timid of the bunch.
All four need to be spayed/nuetered.
ANY DONATIONS TOWARD THEIR CARE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
