Shadow and Nova
Shadow and Nova are very bonded medium size 12 year old shelties that must be adopted together (no exceptions, so please do not ask to separate them), their owner loved them very much but unfortunately had passed away and the family could not take them in. Shadow and Nova are mostly housebroken, they are ok with other dogs. They will require a secure fenced in yard. Shadow is very shy until he gets to know you, whereas his brother Nova has the outgoing personality, making friends with everyone, and together they make a great team of shelties. Both boys are crate trained, up-to-date on shots and walk on leash (but must have very secure collars) when outside of fenced-in space. Please consider adopting these two boys and giving them that special home.
If you are interested in Shadow and Nova please go the the Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ website and fill out an Adoption Application.
* We do not permit adoptions of shelties as gifts. If you would like to give one as a gift you can contact us for advice on how to handle the situation.
Please note that we do NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Herding dogs, especially shelties, tend to chase whatever/whoever is running & they often will nip at the back of legs in their attempt to gather everyone into a neat, manageable area.
If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation or to sponsor one of our forever fosters, seniors or special needs dogs, please email Aneita.
