Lexie 2 is doing really well in her foster home but it was discovered that she has mild seizures. They are under control with medication. She is available for adoption or if you can not adopt her and would like to donate towards her medication please go to our website at Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of New Jersey
Lexi 2 is approximately 8 years old, sable and white. Sheltie who found herself back in Rescue after her adoptive family could no longer care for her. Lexi is a sweet girl who would be better off as an only dog or possible with a older submissive dog. She is fine with cats. Lexie is very laid back and be happy to be on your lap getting love and attention. This little girl used to be afraid to be outside and spent several years indoors. Now she just loves to be outside in a fenced in yard where she can explore. She is housebroken and up to date on shots. She can be a bit stubborn on walks and wants to stop but with a little encouragement she will continue. She knows some basic commands. Lexi was overweight when she came back into rescue but has lost most of it and is now almost at a normal weight for her size.
If you are interested in Lexie2 please go the the Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ website and fill out an Adoption Application.
* We do not permit adoptions of shelties as gifts. If you would like to give one as a gift you can contact us for advice on how to handle the situation.
Please note that we do NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Herding dogs, especially shelties, tend to chase whatever/whoever is running & they often will nip at the back of legs in their attempt to gather everyone into a neat, manageable area.
If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation or to sponsor one of our forever fosters, seniors or special needs dogs, please email Aneita.
